Hi, I’m Tom
General Psychologist
My approach.
I believe that our unpleasant internal experiences are often driven by the level of attachment we have with our thoughts. This, in turn, often leads us to make decisions that are misaligned with our values, perpetuating a cycle that moves us away from the life that we want to be living.
My approach is highly collaborative and non-judgemental to allow you, to move us in the directions that you feel are the most meaningful while introducing strategies that provide new ways of interpreting thoughts and developing goals that move towards the life you want to live.
We are all humans, doing our best to find our way and I consider it a privilege to be able to lend a hand when things get difficult.

Therapeutic Modalities
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a practical, evidence-based form of therapy that helps people respond more flexibly to difficult thoughts and feelings, rather than becoming caught up in trying to control or avoid them. It focuses on building awareness, clarifying what matters most, and taking small, meaningful actions in that direction.
-
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a practical, structured approach that explores the links between thoughts, feelings and behaviours. It can help you identify patterns that may be keeping you stuck, develop helpful coping strategies, and try new ways of responding to everyday challenges.
-
CBT-I is widely regarded as the gold-standard psychological treatment for persistent insomnia. It is a practical, structured approach that combines sleep scheduling, stimulus control, cognitive strategies and sleep-hygiene practices to address the patterns, habits and beliefs that can interfere with sleep.
-
Schema Therapy is a depth-oriented approach that helps people understand recurring emotional and relationship patterns. It looks at how early experiences can shape the ways we see ourselves, others and the world, while supporting the development of healthier ways of responding.
-
Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) is a structured, evidence-based approach commonly used for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). It involves gradually and collaboratively facing situations, thoughts or sensations that trigger anxiety, while learning to reduce the urge to respond through compulsions or avoidance.
